{ Simple Storage for Boys }

well, not just for boys...

I found this draw on the side of the road.
It was part of a great leggy buffet, but the rest of the
piece had seen better days.
So I just took the drawer.

Sprayed it Fern Green
{a new fav from Rustoleum}

Added some photo copied
vintage maps with wall paper paste.
{the maps were a Father's day gift I found on e-bay
-a bit hit with Danny I might add}

I sanded much of the Fern Green off of the wood.
Check the fab knob, would you?

Added some wheels.

ta-da

I know it's nothing you haven't seen done before.
But, thought you might use it as a reminder to
stop next time you pass a bunch of stuff in the trash.
You'll find use for something!

Oh, alright.  I'll throw in a mini sneak peak
{Still waiting on the box spring}

  2. Oh no not just for boys! I love it so much!
    I especially love that you modge podged the bottom to add to it.
    For months now I have told my husband if you see any drawers on the side of the road or in someone's trash pick them up. He was mortified and thinks it ridiculous. I will just have to show him what you did. It looks amazing and is functional! Love it!

  3. I love that idea!
    I was just thinking last nite of this very idea- for my grandsons soon to be new room. My daughter and her family maybe moving soon and the boys will have to share-- this would be great for under their beds-- they could each have a drawer. The best part is---the drawers DON'T HAVE TO MATCH! you could shop several curbs for something like this.
    Love the green on yours can't wait to see the finished room!

  4. A great idea and I love the distressed look of the green. I'll be looking for abandoned drawers too. His room is cute.

  7. I love your blog and this idea, is so neat. I guess that is a good way to discribe it. It will help keep rooms neat and tidy. I know I will be looking for a few drawers. I love the color!

  9. Great idea nonetheless. I never find junk around my neighbor's houses. Bummer. Can't wait to see his room reveal. You're using the same colors as my son's room.
