{ Globe Pendants }

I decided to make a pendant light out of a vintage globe I found at a flea market.
It may have been one of the quickest and easiest project I have ever done.
So, get yourself a globe and start drillin'!

I separated the globe with a straight edge knife right along the seem. It popped right apart.

I used a circular drill bit the same diameter as the light I was going to use.

Drilled a whole through the top.

Popped the light fixture through the whole...(which I purchased at IKEA)

Tada, more later when I hang them.

  3. Very, very cute! My son has a globe in his room that he never uses but I have been keeping it around forever. Maybe it's time to give it a new life. Thanks for sharing.

  6. I am planning this exact same project in the bunk room! I have a few globes and the little one decided to throw one of them on the ground and pop open it went. So now I plan on doing this same thing and hanging them above each of the big boy beds. But I'm so glad you did it first so I can have good directions and don't mess it up! lol!
